Why this matters in Indore
Indore is not short of places to be active. It has clean streets, usable parks and a genuine fitness culture. The trouble is that almost none of it is built for a sixty-eight-year-old. The studios along Vijay Nagar are aimed at people in their thirties, and a retired schoolteacher who walks into one is not the customer they had in mind.
So the choice ends up being a class that moves too fast or nothing at all, and most people sensibly pick nothing. What is missing is not motivation, it is a room where the pace, the language and the expectations are set for over 55s.
That is the whole design here. Physiotherapists leading, seated options throughout, and nobody in the session who is not in the same age range.
The city changed around them
People who have lived here forty years describe something particular. Nobody left them exactly. The city simply grew from a large town into something else, and the version of Indore they knew, where the same faces appeared at the same shops and a walk through Rajwada meant six conversations, is not the city they now live in.
The families moved outward into newer colonies with better flats, the children went to Pune, Bengaluru and Delhi for work, and the old dense neighbourhoods where all of this happened by itself are now half an hour away and full of strangers.
It is a quieter kind of loss than a child emigrating and it does the same thing to a week. A fixed group meeting three times a week puts back the one element that went missing, which is people who expect you.
Why families in Indore choose it
Nobody in the room is thirty
Every participant is over 55 and the session is paced for that, so there is no keeping up with people two generations younger.
Memory work alongside movement
Cognitive games and focus exercises run every week, which no walking group or gym in the city offers.
The same faces each week
A capped batch on fixed days, which over a few months turns into people who notice an absence and ask about it.
Hindi or Marathi instruction
Both are common in Indore households, and facilitators teach in whichever the participant follows most easily.
How Vayofit actually runs
The schedule is fixed and the group is small, which is what turns it into a habit rather than a one-off class.

In their own words
Vayofit in Indore: common questions
Is Vayofit available in Indore?
Yes. Sessions are live and online, so anyone in Indore can join from home. Participants take part from Vijay Nagar, New Palasia, Old Palasia, Sudama Nagar, Annapurna and Scheme 78.
How is this different from joining a gym or a yoga class here?
Everything is built for over 55s rather than adapted for them. Sessions are led by physiotherapists, every movement has a seated version, and the batch is entirely people in the same age range. Cognitive and mindfulness work is included, which a general class does not cover.
Can the sessions be conducted in Hindi?
Yes. Facilitators lead in Hindi and English, and Marathi is common among participants in this region. Mention the preference at registration.
What if my parent has knee pain or arthritis?
Tell us at registration. Sessions are physiotherapist-led with seated and reduced variations throughout, so participants work within what their joints allow rather than pushing through pain.
Is the program online or offline?
Vayofit is designed as an online healthy-ageing program so seniors across India can participate from home. Sessions are live and facilitator-led, with recordings available if you miss a class.
Is the program planned for one month?
The program is available to you throughout the entire year, so you can continue benefiting from it for as long as you wish.
I liked the program and I wish to continue. What is the procedure?
We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the program! To continue your participation, we will send you a link to renew your registration one week before it expires. You can easily complete the necessary payment and seamlessly continue with the program.
How many sessions will there be in a month?
We have thoughtfully planned 12 sessions per month, ensuring you have ample opportunities to engage and learn.
How many batches does the program operate in?
The program operates in two batches to accommodate different schedules: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, as well as Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. This flexibility allows you to choose the batch that suits you best.
What are the time slots for the program?
Keeping in mind the convenience of our elderly participants, we offer four time slots to choose from: a) 10 am – 11:30 am, b) 12 pm – 1:30 pm, c) 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm, and d) 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm.
How many elderly people are there per batch and time slot?
To ensure the best experience for all participants, we have limited each batch to a maximum of 20 people per time slot. This allows us to provide individual attention and personalized support.
Is there a refund policy?
Yes, we offer a refund within the first seven days from the start of the program. If, within this period, the program doesn't meet your expectations and you wish to discontinue, you will be eligible for a 100% refund. However, please note that no refunds are provided beyond this initial week.
Who will be leading the sessions?
We have a team of dedicated professionals, including physiotherapists, psychologists, and mindfulness instructors, who will be leading the sessions. Their expertise and experience will ensure a comprehensive and holistic program for you.
How long is each session?
Each session is designed to be 90 minutes long, allowing for a comfortable and enriching experience. We also provide a 5-minute break during the session for you to rejuvenate.
What if I miss a session?
Don't worry! We understand that life can sometimes interfere with schedules. All the sessions are recorded, and we will share the recording link with you after each session. This way, even if you miss a session, you can catch up at your convenience and still benefit from the content.
