Why this matters in Pune
Pune is a city people choose to grow old in. The weather is reasonable, the pace is manageable, and a steady number of people arrive here in their sixties having sold up somewhere else. That is a good decision on almost every count except one.
The city has spread a long way in twenty years. Kothrud to Viman Nagar in traffic is not a trip anyone makes for an exercise class twice a week, and the classes that do exist tend to be pitched at people twenty years younger. Online delivery skips the distance question entirely, and the sessions are built for people over 55 rather than adapted for them.
A new city at sixty-five, and nobody in it yet
Retiring to Pune usually means leaving the place where you knew everyone. The chemist knew your name, so did four neighbours and the man at the vegetable stall, and none of that transfers. You arrive somewhere pleasant and calm, and you are starting a social life again from nothing, at an age when making friends is harder than anyone admits.
It catches people by surprise, because the move itself was the right call. The flat is better, the air is better, and yet the week has nothing in it. Adult children see a parent who is comfortable and assume comfortable is the same as fine.
The group is the point here as much as the physiotherapy. Twenty people, fixed days, over months rather than weeks, which is roughly how long it takes for a set of strangers to turn into people you look forward to seeing.
Why families in Pune choose it
A social circle you can rebuild
Same batch, same slot, three times a week. For someone who moved here after retiring, that is the fastest honest route to knowing people again.
Pitched at over 55, not adapted for it
Every session is designed for older bodies from the start, rather than a general class with the difficulty turned down.
Pune traffic stops mattering
Kothrud, Aundh and Viman Nagar are the same distance from this program, which is to say none at all.
Marathi, Hindi or English
Sessions are led in the language the participant thinks in, and switching between them mid-explanation is normal here.
How Vayofit actually runs
The schedule is fixed and the group is small, which is what turns it into a habit rather than a one-off class.

Is Vayofit available in Pune?
Yes. Sessions are live and online, so anyone in Pune can join from home. Participants take part from Kothrud, Karve Nagar, Aundh, Sahakar Nagar, Bibvewadi and Viman Nagar.
We moved to Pune after retirement and know very few people. Will this help?
That is a common reason for joining. Each batch holds a maximum of 20 participants and meets three times a week, so the same faces recur and conversation builds over time rather than being a one-off.
Can the sessions be conducted in Marathi?
Yes. Facilitators lead in Marathi, Hindi and English. Tell us the preferred language at registration and we will place the participant in a matching batch.
Is this suitable for someone in their late seventies?
Yes. Sessions are led by physiotherapists and include seated variations throughout, so participants work at the level their body allows. Tell us about any existing condition at registration so the facilitators know.
Is the program online or offline?
Vayofit is designed as an online healthy-ageing program so seniors across India can participate from home. Sessions are live and facilitator-led, with recordings available if you miss a class.

How many batches does the program operate in?
The program operates in two batches to accommodate different schedules: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, as well as Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. This flexibility allows you to choose the batch that suits you best.
What are the time slots for the program?
Keeping in mind the convenience of our elderly participants, we offer four time slots to choose from: a) 10 am – 11:30 am, b) 12 pm – 1:30 pm, c) 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm, and d) 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm.
How many elderly people are there per batch and time slot?
To ensure the best experience for all participants, we have limited each batch to a maximum of 20 people per time slot. This allows us to provide individual attention and personalized support.
Is there a refund policy?
Yes, we offer a refund within the first seven days from the start of the program. If, within this period, the program doesn't meet your expectations and you wish to discontinue, you will be eligible for a 100% refund. However, please note that no refunds are provided beyond this initial week.
